Story Circle Network
Internet Chapter e-Circles

Please consider joining us!

Story Circle's mission is to encourage readers to become writers, guide women to set down their true stories, and encourage the sharing of women's lives. This kind of connecting with other women is exactly what is happening through our e-circles. As an Internet Member of Story Circle Network, you are invited to explore each of these e-circle opportunities. Internet Chapter members may participate in one or more circles.

Reading e-circles are reading groups conducted over the internet. Currently, we have structured it so that the facilitator sends out a book title to the e-circle once a month. About two weeks into reading, members submit discussion questions to the facilitator who puts them together and sends them out to the e-circle. Members read and send responses to the e-circle members by the end of the month. Each member gets a copy of the responses in her personal e-mail. Around the end of the next month, a chat room date/time is set for the book discussion, and new book titles are suggested.

Writing e-circles are small groups of women doing life writing who share their stories with each other over the internet by e-mail. Currently, we have structured it so that the facilitator sends out a writing topic to the e-circle once a month. Members write and send a story to the e-circle members by the end of the month. Each story is posted on the circle's webpage. Each e-circle member fills out a response form for other's stories, offering feedback, sharing similar experiences, and making constructive comments about style.

In order to participate in an e-circle, please first join the national Story Circle Network and the Internet Chapter (our online form is here: Join SCN). After your payment has been received you will then be given your password to enter the Inet Chapter and can sign up for an e-circle.
